Chapter 6

Author's POV

After her shower, Preeti slipped into soft pajamas.

Her classes would start on Monday, and she was excited.

She wanted to buy some new clothes for university, and Ansh had promised to take her shopping the next day.

---------------

The next day preeti got ready in a red sweatshirt and black jeans, her hair open, lips shining with her favorite gloss.

Ansh was waiting beside the car.

The moment he saw her coming, he quietly opened the car door for her.

She sat inside, and he came around to his seat and started driving.

They reached the mall and went shop to shop.

Preeti picked sweatshirts, jeans, and even a few cute frocks.

Then she went to buy heels and joggers.

Ansh stayed with her the whole time, carrying all her shopping bags his both hands were full.

Next, Preeti entered a jewelry shop.

She tried different earrings and watches.

While she was busy choosing, Ansh noticed a diamond flower-shaped pendant.

Without her noticing, he signalled a boy from the shop.

"Pack this pendant," he whispered.

When Preeti turned slightly, Ansh casually looked away.

"Princess... how many things are left?

Look at my hands, I don't have any more space to carry bags," he said dramatically, trying to look tired.

Preeti laughed.

"Just one more thing. You can go order something. I'm coming, okay?"

Ansh agreed since the food court was right beside the shop.

"Pack this watch, please," Preeti said.

"Yes, ma'am," the shopkeeper replied.

After a few minutes, she walked to Ansh.

He was waiting for her near the food court.

They ate lunch together, quietly but comfortably.

After lunch, Ansh said gently,

"Princess, tomorrow the driver will be ready on time to take you. He will pick you too."

"Okay..." Preeti replied softly.

She wanted Ansh to drop her.

She loved going everywhere with him...

but she could never ask him directly.

All these years, Ansh had taken care of every small thing in her life even without her asking.

She had gotten used to his nature.

To his attention.

To the way he understood her without words.

So she wished that he would understand her today too.

But she didn't have the courage to say it.

---------------------

The next day preeti chose a peach frock that reached her knees.

She tied her hair half-up, half-down, applied a little blush, mascara, and her favorite gloss.

She was about to wear her earrings when her door knocked.

"Come in," she said.

Ansh entered quietly and came to stand beside her.

Preeti didn't turn as she was fixing the earring.

Ansh looked at her reflection in the mirror.

She was glowing.

For a moment, he wanted to come close to her so close...

but then he stopped himself.

No, Ansh... you will scare her, he reminded himself.

But he still couldn't look away.

When Preeti lifted her other earring, Ansh slowly took it from her hand and helped her wear it.

She was about to turn toward him, but Ansh placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, stopping her.

Now both of them stood facing the mirror.

Ansh slowly moved her hair from her back to the front.

His fingers brushed her neck.

A warm shiver ran through Preeti's whole body.

Her heart started beating fast.

Ansh opened a small box

and placed the diamond flower-shaped pendant around her neck.

He locked the chain from behind...

Then lowered his head...

And placed a soft kiss behind her neck.

Preeti's breath stopped for a second.

A sweet shiver ran down her spine.

Her heart felt like it would jump out of her chest.

Ansh noticed her nervousness and turned her gently to face him.

"It's a gift for your first day of university," he said softly.

"T-thank you..." she whispered, her eyes lowered.

Ansh lifted her chin lightly with his finger.

"Tum meri patni ho.

I can kiss you.

There's nothing wrong in it... right?"

"Y-yes..." Preeti whispered, stepping back shyly.

"I... I'm getting late. I'm going."

She grabbed her bag quickly and rushed outside.

Ansh watched her leave and an amused smile touched his lips.

"She's my wife...

and one more surprise is waiting for her at the university," he thought with a smirk.

Preeti's POV

My heart was still beating fast.

The driver started the car, but my mind was stuck on that moment...

I touched the pendant around my neck.

"It's so beautiful..." I whispered without thinking.

And then I smiled remembering the warmth of his lips on my skin.

Author's POV

She reached the campus.

Alia and Rocky were already in class.

"Hi beautiful!" Rocky said.

Preeti smiled.

"Hi guys. How are you?"

"All good," Alia replied.

It was 8:50.

Everyone took their seats.

Preeti, Alia and Rocky sat in one row.

"Did you check the timetable?" Preeti asked.

"Yes. Maths at 9.

And the professor's name is Ansh," Alia said casually.

Preeti's heart skipped a beat.

No... it can't be him.

There are many people named Ansh, she told herself.

Rocky was talking to some boys when Alia leaned toward her.

"Preeti, Rocky was asking about your guardian.

I told him he's your father's friend, right?

He asked about your family too... but you never told me much, so I changed the topic."

Preeti nodded silently.

"But I think Rocky likes you," Alia added.

"What?" Preeti laughed nervously.

"What's wrong? You can give him a chance. He's my cousin, and he's a good boy."

"I can't, Alia... because.." she began.

But just then, the classroom door opened.

The professor walked in.

Preeti's eyes widened.

Alia froze.

Rocky looked shocked.

Her heartbeat stopped.

Because the professor...

was Ansh no other but same Ansh Raj:)

Ansh's POV

All through the mall, while I carried her bags, I watched her smile.

She looked so happy.

So innocent.

So excited for her new life.

Every time she picked a dress or asked, "Is this good?"

my heart softened a little more.

I didn't care how many bags I carried , I could carry the whole mall for her.

When I saw that flower pendant, I knew it belonged to her.

Soft... delicate... beautiful... like her.

I wanted her first day of university to be special.

To remind her that she was never alone.

That I was always with her.

And this morning...

when she stood in front of the mirror, wearing that peach dress...

For a second, I forgot to breathe.

Placing the earrings... moving her hair...

putting the pendant around her neck...

I felt something I had never felt before.

When I kissed her...

her whole body shivered.

And I knew my Princess was growing up.

And she was starting to feel something too.

Today, in class, when she sees me as her professor...

her world will change again.

And I can't wait to see her reaction.
